Who we are

Research Director & Principal Interviewer: Dr Nick Baylis is a consultant
psychologist (chartered and licensed to practice by the British
Psychological Society) who specialises in researching and promoting the
all-round development of young men and women in their late teens, twenties and thirties. Nick works with individuals one to one, and with educational and corporate organisations.

Nick is also the voluntary founder and former chairman of trustees for
Trail-Blazers, which is a project offering skills-training & mentorship to
the young men serving prison sentences in Feltham Young Offenders'
Institution, West London. Its patron is General Sir David Ramsbotham, former Chief Inspector of Prisons.

Nick gained his Masters and PhD at Cambridge University where, in the
Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, he now lectures the UK's first
ever course in Positive Psychology. This is the scientific pursuit of the
most promising routes to a healthy, successful, and satisfying life, one
that benefits both the individual and their community. Nick is co-organising
The Royal Society Discussion Meeting on The Science of Well-Being, to be
held in London in November 2003.

The philosophy that unites younglives.com

The individuals who made this report possible, share the belief that there is currently a lack of trustworthy, comprehensive and easily available first-hand experience about making the most of life. So they set about providing a reservoir of potentially useful ideas that could be shared by as many people as possible.
